COMMUNIST PARTY OF INDIA (MARXIST)
ANDHRA PRADESH COMMITTEE
Vijayawada,
Date : 18th August, 2026.

To
The Chief Electoral Officer,
Andhra Pradesh,
Amaravathi.

Sub   Request for enquiry on Money distribution to Voters as stated by AP Chief Minister.

Respected Sir,

On the occasion of Independence Day on August 15, 2026, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Sri Nara Chandrababu Naidu, while speaking with women from the 'Stree Shakti' group, called upon them not to accept money — specifically Rs. 2,000 per vote — and to reject it. This clearly indicates that some political parties are distributing money. When a person of Chief Ministerial stature makes such a serious allegation against the public, the Election Commission has a responsibility to investigate how this money distribution is taking place and where these political parties are getting the funds from. It goes without saying that the electoral system is becoming corrupt. As a result, people are not voting freely; they are selling their votes for money. This means that the vote has become a market commodity, and democracy has turned into a plutocracy. The Election Commission has a duty to prevent this dangerous situation and ensure that elections are conducted freely. Therefore, I request that the Election Commission take suo moto cognizance of the Chief Minister's statement, conduct an inquiry, and take measures to curb the distribution of money in elections.

Thanking You,

Yours Sincerely,

(V. Srinivasa Rao)
 State Secretary
